Focaccia Bread Recipe

FOCACCIA BREAD RECIPE: 

– 5 cups all purpose or white flour

– 2 cups water

– 1/3 cup olive oil

– 1 tsp regular salt

– 1 tsp sea salt

– 1 tbsp yeast (or one packet)

– optional toppings like chives, garlic, rosemary, etc. 

Mix water, yeast, sugar, 1 cup flour, and 3 tbsp olive oil in a mixer bowl. Let the yeast bubble for 10 min and then add the rest of your flour. 

Knead on speed 3 for 4 minutes and when it is almost a smooth ball add your salt. Knead 1 more minute and add another tbsp olive oil and cover with a damp towel. 

When it is doubled in size, spread dough in a greased casserole dish.

Rest 20 min until it rises again, then preheat your oven to 425F, add your toppings and the sea salt and more olive oil, and then do the indentations with your fingers. 

Let rise 15 more minutes and then bake 20-30min or until it just starts to turn golden brown.
